The Sato TH208 battery unit is required to use the TH2 as a standalone mobile printer, it is an optional extra. No battery pack is necessary when the AC adapter is used. When the battery pack and AC adapter are used simultaneously, the printer begins to charge the battery, if the battery is not fully charged. The time to fully charge a depleted battery is between 1.5 and 6 hours.
