Epson have recently revealed the new top-of-the range Epson C8000e label printer, the newest addition to the Epson ColorWorks range. This printer builds upon the success of the popular C7500, advancing upon its predecessor with advanced features. The Epson C8000e is designed to meet the demands of high-volume label production in industries including food, beverages, chemicals, healthcare, horticulture, pharmaceuticals, warehousing and logistics. In our recent blog we discuss this printer's key features.
Versions available
The Epson C8000e is available in both Matte (MK) and Gloss (BK) versions. The difference between the two versions relates to the black ink used in the machines. The gloss version is suitable for the vast majority of labeling applications, contrastingly the Matte version is suitable for the occasional matte media only application where a dense black print is required.
Print Quality
The Epson C8000e has been designed to produce exceptional high quality labels to meet the demands of industrial label printing. The ColorWorks C8000e has a print resolution of 1200 x 600dpi enabling accurate reproduction of barcodes and small fonts. To enhance image accuracy and reliability the printer features Epson’s Nozzle Verification Technology (NVT) to prevent misprints, as well as spot colour matching and ICC profiling for easy and precise colour management.
Sustainability
The Epson C8000e has been designed to have a reduced environmental impact when compared to the C7500. The use of high-capacity ink pouches means that it contains 75% less plastic than if using cartridges and provides 1.65 times more volume compared with its predecessor. It has also been manufactured using 2.6 kilos less metal parts than compared with the C7500.
Connectivity and software integration
The Epson C8000e comes with a wider range of connectivity options which includes USB 3.0, Ethernet, Wi-Fi (optional) and an I/O port. The printer comes with support for Windows, MAC IOS and Linux OS. Integration with existing ERP systems is easy with SAP direct printing with ABAP systems.
Footprint
The Epson C8000e has a reduced footprint of 35% when compared to its predecessor which allows the printer to be fit in much smaller work stations. To allow for easier and simplified printer management and operations there is a new one-side access for paper loading, ink replacement and general printing operations
Supported Media
The Epson C8000e supports matte and gloss paper, film and synthetic materials. To enable printing of thicker materials (up to 0.6mm) the printer has an adjustable platen gap which would be suitable to use for applications such as price tags and floral labels. The printer can support media of a minimum 25mm width and a maximum of 112mm.
Print Speed
The Epson C8000e offers print speeds of up to 300mm per second. For inkjet label printing this is an impressive print speed suitable for high volume industrial requirements.
